Last year, we entered our second decade of providing excellence in banking. I am proud to inform you that our commitment to excellence, efficiency and superior performance has resulted in Centrix Bank being recognized by SNL Financial, a premier national financial reporting house. We ranked 58th on the annual list released in 2011 of the Top 100 Best Performing Community Banks in the country, which includes assets between $500 million and $5 billion. Also in 2011, we were acknowledged in national and statewide publications, including being named, by New Hampshire Business Review as the “Best Bank for Small Business/Local.”
Our accomplishments and resultant recognitions have been earned in an economic environment of continued uncertainty and tepid growth. While New Hampshire continues to enjoy more favorable economic metrics than our New England counterparts, plant expansions and investment in new equipment remain exceptionally low. Therefore, much of our continued strong growth has been achieved by capturing existing market share from competitors and expanding banking relationships with current customers. Despite these economic challenges, we are pleased to report solid financial results.
Our solid results during continued challenging times is a reflection of management’s constant focus on asset quality, expense control and overall operating efficiencies. Competition among financial institutions remains razor sharp. Retaining customers and winning new business requires consistent execution of our promise to provide excellence in banking. Our collective actions to provide superior service with the latest technology and products have positioned us well to continue our measured progress in gaining profitable market share and building shareholder value.
